Charlie Goes is the second part of a Contemporary Dance Triptych produced by Gotra Dance Company. It’s also the result of the first collaboration between dutch choreographer Joost Vrouenraets and Composer Laurent Delforge.
Charlie Goes breathes confusion, joy, sadness, and rebellion… It becomes such a dazzling representation of the coming-of-age process. Vrouenraets put consciously young dancers on stage: athletic, strong and technically excellent. The young man who opposes the existing system and paves the way for identity is the beating heart of this work.

About The Music :

The composition process was driven by “The Lizard -Jim Morisson- King’s” biography and his fascination for poetry, philosophy and mythology.
That’s why the musical composition focused itself on a more “instrumental” aesthetic. Made out of electric, analog, 70’s alike instruments.
The score surely was inspired by Morisson’s work with the Doors but it doesn’t aim to be a 70’s psych rock pastiche rather than drawing a personal narration linked to the choreography.
